Echoes of Time
Over the past several months I've been building a body of work - including a series of clay hand puppets inspired by memory, folklore, old theater, childhood relics, and the amazing world of make believe.
“Echoes of Time” is a complete body of work that I am exploring and creating for this year's show season.
This collection is deeply rooted in character, with an implied sense of play, age, and humor.
Above is a sneak peak of a figure from the series. These hand puppets evoke wonderful memories of rainy day fun, a world of make believe, and a sense of accomplishment in their imaginary creation.
Over the coming weeks I will take you along with behind-the-scenes glimpses into the sculpting process, surface treatments, and the evolving world these characters are stepping out of.
I will be releasing two new pieces this weekend at the Chester County Studio Tour. Stop by at Studio stop 29 in Coatesville, the home studio of Rachel Romano. I hope to see you there.
