“Helen” is the matriarch of her barnyard brood. She is strong and assertive. She and her partner manage a bookstore where you can find a huge assortment of classic novels. She never had her own children, but borrows and spoils other family members little ones.

“Helen” is a strikingly tall piece at 22”h x 8”w x 8”d. Made of stoneware, this piece has multiple layers of slips and underglazes. Once finished, there are multiple layers of encaustic wax applied with numerous pigmented wax. A shellac burn is also applied at the end. Although archival in nature, encaustic wax pieces should not be in direct sun, placed in a hot car, or stored in an attic. They like to sit in a controlled environment. Encaustic wax is the oldest form of art known to man. There are limitations to its placement in your home. If you have questions please reach out to me.
